Mineral Mocktails are one way to get minerals and those are sodium, potassium and magnesium only. This mini course goes above and beyond that free guide & we'll talk about many other minerals. What are the benefits of HTMA testing?
A Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a way to assess cellular mineral status (vs minerals outside the cells like in blood testing). This helps us get an idea of what minerals you are using and/or losing which allows us to make more precise personalized decisions around food, mineral, supplement intake to optimize health.
What if I just had my hair dyed/highlighted?
Ideally, wait 6-8 weeks before collecting your hair sample for optimal results.
Can I do HTMA testing if on medications?
Yes.
Can I do HTMA testing if pregnant or nursing?
Yes.
How much hair is required?
It’s about 1 hefty tsp of hair.
Can I just use the ends of my hair?
Hair collection should be as close to the scalp as possible to get results that asses your mineral status from the last 2-3 months.
Does HTMA also assess heavy metals?
Yes. The body excretes heavy metals via numerous avenues (bowels, urine, sweat, breath and hair). This is one method to assess what heavy metals you may have higher exposure to.
Can I order if I live outside the United States?
At this moment, we are only sending kits within the United States.
When will I get my HTMA results back?
Results take about 2 weeks to process once you’ve mailed your kit in.
